2. DESIGN PROCESS
A. Architect versus a full service company.
An architect usually costs between $50.00 to $200.00 per hour and you own the plans.
Cypress Builders, Inc. will provide design services and take your project from conception to completion
B. Is the project legal?
Does it meet local codes, setbacks, lot to building ratios, etc...
C. Does design add value to the house?
In other words, design the addition to match the architecture of the house.
D. Designers can be confused by your descriptions, but not by your pictures.
Collect design elements from magazines, photos of neighbors' homes. etc
3. TEAMWORK
A. Remodeling is potentially a very stressful endeavor.
Be concerned if the salesperson tells you that your construction is going to be the most dust free,
stress free experience.
B. A successful remodeling project is based on a foundation of trust and teamwork.
thoroughly research the company you are planning on doing business with (i.e. referrals, suppliers,
BBB).
C. Ask questions.
Use lists to ask questions. Remember that information is power.
D. Finally, remember everyone is human.
Remodeling is potentially problematic. The key is how the problems are resolved.
